A tool, not a shortcut
AI has lowered the barrier to making music without lowering the ceiling on quality. It lets a solo producer test dozens of genres and vocal styles in an afternoon — something that used to require a full studio, a band, and a much bigger budget. Used well, it doesn't replace the songwriter. It becomes another instrument in the chain, right alongside the guitar and the DAW.
Everywhere, right now
This isn't a fringe experiment anymore. AI-assisted uploads to major streaming platforms have grown roughly sevenfold in just over a year, and independent artists across every genre — pop, hip-hop, country, electronic — are folding it into their workflow. In blind listening tests, most people can't reliably tell an AI-assisted track from a fully human one.

History repeats itself
This exact debate has happened twice before. When sampling entered hip-hop in the late 80s, critics called it lazy and unoriginal — it's now a foundational production technique used across every genre. When Auto-Tune arrived in the 2000s, it was mocked as cheating — it's now on the majority of pop, R&B, and hip-hop records released today. AI music is walking the same path: resisted at first, standardized within a decade.

Where it's headed
Analysts don't agree on the exact number, but they agree on the direction: double-digit annual growth for years to come. Estimates for the global AI music market range from roughly $5–6 billion in 2026 to well over $12 billion by 2030, with broader forecasts projecting the wider AI music economy could exceed €16 billion annually by 2028.
Figures are industry estimates from multiple market research firms as of 2026 and are subject to change as the market matures.

These are the arguments most often raised against AI-assisted music — and honest answers to each one. Tap a question to see the response.
1
"It has no soul"
You're right that AI has no soul on its own — that's exactly where the producer comes in. Whatever skills you already have in music, you bring to the AI-generated foundation. A lyricist can make sure the words scan phonetically and land emotionally. A rapper can lay their own vocals over an AI-generated beat. A producer can pull the AI-generated tracks into a DAW and rebuild them entirely — their own mixing, their own effects, their own layering. As long as a human is steering the process, the song has soul. And the more time and care you put into it, the more soul it carries — people can hear the difference. The only time a song truly has no soul is when an AI agent prompts another AI to generate music with no human involved at all. At that point, you've got one computer instructing another computer — and there's nothing creative about that.
2
"It kills creativity"
It's the opposite — AI has activated far more creativity than it's replaced. Think about how many more people are making music today compared to five years ago. Writer's block and the limits of your home setup or your DAW's plugin library no longer hold you back. If you have a clear vision for how a song should feel, you can reach that vision almost immediately, and the palette of sounds available to you is limited only by imagination.

Yes, you can generate a song in seconds — but that's exactly the point. It frees up your energy and creativity for everything else being an artist actually requires. Making the song was never the whole job. You still need the creativity to market it, to come up with a music video concept, to figure out how to present the song and yourself to an audience. All of that takes just as much imagination as writing the song itself — and now you have the energy left over to actually do it well, instead of burning out before you even get there.

Where it looks like creativity is being killed is when people settle for the first AI-generated draft and release it unchanged, without putting that saved time into anything else either. That's a lack of effort, not a limitation of the tool. Learning an instrument still matters too — if you're a performing artist, you can take an AI-assisted song you love and learn to play it live, in your own style. The total amount of creative work hasn't disappeared. It's just been redistributed to the parts of being an artist that used to get neglected.
3
"It steals from real artists"
It doesn't steal — it draws inspiration and reshapes melodies and ideas, the same way musicians always have. How does anyone become a musician in the first place? You listen, you pick favorite artists, you study their music, you cover their songs, and eventually you borrow fragments of melody from the artists who shaped you. That practice already has a name: sampling. There's nothing wrong with it, as long as you twist it into something your own.

Splice is a sample-sharing platform nearly every producer in the industry knows — artists upload samples, and others transpose them, layer effects on top, change the BPM, and reshape them into something new. That's essentially what Suno and other AI music tools do — just faster, and arguably better. On Suno, you can be confident that the specific sample generated for you has never existed before, unlike Splice, where the same sample might already have been used by 10 to 100 other artists. Suno's library is also effectively infinite, while Splice's is finite. And because AI can detect patterns that have never been combined before, your tracks can end up genuinely original — especially if you learn to blend elements from multiple AI-generated songs.
4
"It floods the market"
True, but mass-generated songs tend to undercut themselves — they share the same vocal tones and the same instrumental and lyrical patterns, which makes them easy to spot. Listeners are getting sharper at recognizing them by the day. That's exactly why it matters to actually work on your track. If you make genuinely good music and pair it with a solid marketing strategy, AI saturation isn't the obstacle people think it is.

Plenty of talented musicians struggled to break through even before AI existed, simply because they never adapted their marketing to how people discover music today. The real problem was never AI — it's whether you have the creativity to actually get your music seen. Making music is one part of the job. Marketing it is arguably the other half, if you're serious about sharing your work.
5
"It's not real music"
Music has never been defined by how it's produced — it's defined by the result. If a sound makes you feel something — moves you to tears, lifts your mood, helps you process something, makes you want to dance — then it's music. That has always been the priority, and it always will be. How you produce it has never been the point; creating a feeling and presenting it well is.

Right now, AI-assisted music is already making people feel things, without them questioning how it was made. Music is infinite, and the ways of creating it are infinite too. AI is simply one more entry in that infinite list.
6
"It puts musicians out of work"
It's true in some cases — but at the same time, it creates new opportunities. It lets more people step into music by focusing on their strongest skill and letting AI handle the rest. You still choose the structure, the melody, and which takes make the final cut. AI doesn't decide — you do.

And if you're already a working musician, composer, or producer who chooses to use AI, you'll use the tool far better than most. You can learn its weaknesses and how to fix them — and even build a service helping other hybrid producers improve the quality of their own AI-assisted songs. So yes, it may remove some jobs, but it hands you an entirely different set of opportunities, if you're willing to learn it and meet it head-on.
Every second, carefully crafted
Every BAWZ song is chosen from 50–100 generated versions before a single note is finalized — then rebuilt by hand in the DAW, beat by beat, word by word. Nothing is released on a first draft. Every transition, every layer, every phonetic detail is checked and re-checked before it reaches you. This isn't a song generated in five minutes and sold as-is — it's a finished, mastered piece of work.
You do the other half of the job
Writing and producing the song is only half of what makes a hit. The other half is marketing it — and that's where you come in. If you have the vision, the platform, and the drive to push the song, you keep 80% of all streaming revenue. BAWZ retains 20% publishing via STIM as the original songwriter. Buy the song, make it yours, and if you market it well, most of what it earns is yours too.

Make it your own — you don't have to keep the AI demo
If you're a real performing artist, the AI-generated demo is just a starting point — a preview of what the song can be. What you're actually buying is the idea, the lyrics, and the melody. Once the song is yours, you're free to strip away the AI vocals and instrumentation entirely and re-record it however you want: your own voice, your own band, your own genre, your own arrangement. You never have to release the version you heard when you bought it.
🎤
Your voice
Re-record the vocals yourself
🎸
Your instruments

🎚
Your production
Your own mix, your own style
This is exactly what the demo is for — to let you hear the song's structure, hook, and emotional arc before deciding it's the one you want to build on. The AI version is a blueprint, not a finish line.
What real streaming numbers look like
Streaming payouts vary by platform. Here's what 1 million streams could realistically earn across the three biggest services:
Platform
Per stream
Per 1M
Per 10M
Spotify
$0.003–0.005
~$4,000
~$40,000
Apple Music
$0.007–0.01
~$8,500
~$85,000
YouTube Music
$0.002–0.008
~$5,000
~$50,000
Apple Music pays more per stream because it has no free tier — every listener is a paying subscriber. YouTube Music's rate varies widely between ad-supported and Premium listeners; Content ID from third-party videos can add another 30–50% on top for a well-registered track.
Figures are gross average 2026 payouts across platforms, before distributor fees. At 80%, a buyer keeps the majority of every one of these numbers. Actual payouts vary by listener location, subscription type, and distributor.
It's already happening
This isn't hypothetical. AI-assisted artists are already earning real money at scale. AI country act Breaking Rust hit #1 on Billboard's Country Digital Sales chart, and its track "Livin' on Borrowed Time" has surpassed 28 million Spotify streams — an estimated $100,000+ in royalties from a single song. This is the same category of production BAWZ uses: a human-directed, AI-assisted track that found a real audience.

A market on the rise
You're not buying into a fad — you're buying into a category that's growing fast. The AI music market is estimated at $5–6 billion in 2026, with projections putting it at over $12 billion by 2030. Getting in on hybrid-produced music now, while the category is still early, means your song is part of a wave that's only getting bigger.

BAWZ
Hybrid Producer · Lyricist · Gothenburg, SE
— The beginning

BAWZ was born in the Philippines and raised with music in his blood. Growing up, his mother sang karaoke every day — and somewhere between those melodies and the joy she found in them, a deep musicality took root. By his teenage years, he was already writing lyrics, finding words for feelings most people couldn't name. The songs came naturally. The need to create them never went away.

— The craft

Now based in Gothenburg, Sweden, BAWZ spent years honing his instincts as a songwriter and guitarist. Three years ago he started producing in FL Studio, learning the language of sound from the ground up. He played guitar — until 2024, when a hand injury ended that chapter without warning. The instrument he'd relied on was suddenly out of reach. For a while, so was the music.

Music and song ideas were still stuck in his heart.
He couldn't let them stay there.

— The comeback

After stepping away and working through a difficult period, BAWZ came back in 2025 — this time with a new set of tools. He began mastering AI music production, spending the last 1.5 years going deep into the technology. What he discovered changed everything: AI could generate original stems and samples that had never existed before. No recycled loops. No borrowed sounds. Every element built from scratch, unique to each song.

— The method

Today, BAWZ operates at the intersection of two worlds — the songwriter who feels every lyric, and the producer who understands the technology well enough to bend it to his vision. He writes the song, sings the melody, and runs it through 100+ AI-generated versions before a single one is chosen. The winner gets hand-polished in FL Studio: mixed, layered, and shaped into something that sounds like it belongs on a playlist.

This is hybrid production. Not AI instead of the artist. AI as the instrument — and BAWZ as the one playing it.
